Description:
The Fremont Township Community Garden serves as an outdoor classroom for the community to learn about food production and gardening techniques. Showcasing a wide variety of fruits and vegetables each year and different trellising and growing options, the garden hopes to inspire local residents to start growing in their own backyards. Visitors and volunteers are encouraged to sample the produce and collect herbs and flowers, while the bulk of the produce provides fresh fruits and vegetables for local people in need. The garden also embraces sustainable practices, such as repurposing materials, cob playhouse with green roof, solar energy, native plantings, and cover crops.
